Jason, Trini, & zack’s Morphers weren’t damaged in the explosion so no issue using them. It could be used a handful of times then it’d just stop working. That’s why Rocky’s proxy coin didn’t have issues. But 2 red Mmpr rangers is extremely dangerous. I think over time billy learned from alpha & ninjor.
Them using their old powers is like plugging a phone into a charger when the chargers cord is already showing wire. As for Adam & Kat I think their morphers had a weak or almost severed connection to the morphing grid. It wasn’t Aisha was bad just like the original 3 she found a better calling then being a ranger. I feel Rocky got lucky and stumbled into it. Unlike Turbo Zordon knew Jason, Trini, & Zack would probably be back so just handing over their powers over wasn’t very practical. Sword of Light was the only thing that could accomplish this. I think with the comics, it's been pretty well established that, yes, the rangers leave the teams and whatnot, but will often be called upon after their initial departure.
